Iffy forecast: Guru said F 3/4 am only, Theyr F4 most of day. On water by 11.30; onshore wind gave reasonable bursts of planing and gybing practice on flat water for 1.5hrs. Water felt cold in summer wetsuit.

Came in for a sandwich and wind shifted quickly through 90 degrees, leaving the lines of chop as they were for a time. NW wind appeared to pick up, so went back out for another 2 shorter sessions before it went completely.

Theyr was spot on for wind again (although they again forecast significant rain whereas it only drizzled for a short time).

Gybing was better; pulling down on the boom with the front hand made foot change smoother and reduced bouncing on the chop. Holding rig forward also helped. Keping mast/body away from body/mast during flip helped, but need to get timing better to plane out (quite difficult with short gusts).

Tacks - start to pull mast forward before changing feet or just sweep it across board first and pull forward after feet change? The latter seems to give a burst of power to complete turning the board after the feet change, but tendency is to sweep it too far and fall onto the sail from the new side.
